Whoa! It’s March already? From my previous post, I said I would post 2-4 posts a week and I haven’t accomplish that. February was a busy month and there are things that I’m working on and hopefully it will come to the finish line very soon this Month. I will once again post a quick highlights from the past month.

Star Wars 3D: The Phantom Menance was awesome even thou this is my least favorite of all Star Wars Saga but the Duel Fight between Qui-Jon & Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Darth Maul was awesome and the best in the prequel. There wasn’t that much of the 3D effects as I saw in Tron Legacy but still it was good to see it on the big screen again. I almost went to see it again for the 2nd time but I didn’t have time.

Since this is Lent season: I have decided to give up Pop and dessert/candy/cookies. It wasn’t easy but I’m doing okay thus far as 11 days out of 46 days. I know I don’t have to stick with it on Sunday but I’m doing it anyway.

As you see the picture above, I am announcing that I’m joining the Catholic faith as I’m going through RCIA. Last week was Rite of Election & The Call to continuing Conversion, I had the opportunity to meet Bishop Doherty at Diocese of Lafayette-In-Indiana. Photo (From Left to Right): Jason Adamowicz (Sponsor), Bishop Doherty, Jeff Guilkey (Me), and Morgan Stratton (Interpreter). It has been a great experience by going to classes and especially listen/watching Mike Haigerty talking. Everybody else who volunteer to teach a session or two did a good job teaching what they know about the topic of the week. Anyway, Easter Vigil is the big day in my journey of faith and it’s only the beginning.

Mom is about to live in her retirement dream by having a piano. Thanks to Dr. Merbler, Chairperson of Special Education, help her to find a refurbished piano for a reasonable prices. It should be arriving in week or two. Pretty neat, huh?

I have become serious about my weight/health so I can start living up to my goals that I would like to accomplished in my lifetime such as Skydiving, continue to ride more roller coasters, be happier, and more! I am not going to spill more details I meet my benchmark, there’s 5 benchmark in the whole process of my diet plan. I’m currently using “Lose it” iPhone app which is also available online to track my calories/exercise.

That’s about it for a general update. Hopefully I will have some specific update when I get to it. Anyway, I hope you have a great lent season. If you don’t mind sharing, what are you doing for Lent?

[box_light]Prayer Request: If you have room in your prayers, pray for the Haiti Service Team and Spring Break Team as they are traveling to their destination at this time and servicing throughout the week. Jason Adamowicz (Sponsor) is on the Haiti Service Team.[/box_light]

Look for Love, produced by DJ Sammy, which was released a few weeks ago. The Music Video came out shortly after that. The storyline within the music video was pretty awesome. This video got my attention and would like to share my view on this music video in particular.

The storyline goes where a guy name Charlie was listening to DJ Sammy latest track “Look for Love” on his mobile phone. He was greeted by the dog and saw this gorgeous girl name Amy. Charlie saw her again the next day and try to ignite the conversation. He succeeded with the post-it notes. The next day, they met each other again at the same location and had a blast with their ongoing post-it conversation. The 4th day, Amy didn’t show up. On the fifth day, she was waiting for Charlie to come. Charlie expressed his concern. Amy wrote on her post-it: “Hear My Song”. Charlie listened to Amy’s earphones and heard nothing. Amy gesture that she was Deaf. This part is what I like about Charlie, it didn’t stop him from being with her. And then we got to the part where we all hate…. “To Be Continued”. Wonder what DJ Sammy has in store for us? It should be interesting to see where this goes.

One reason I like this music video so much is that Deafness is a hidden disability so when you see strangers around you. It’s hard to tell who is Deaf and who is not. The other disabilities have some form of visual clue that they are disabled in some or many ways. Amy from the music video found a way to blend in with the society by just wearing headphones and will not be intervene by the people around her because she is Deaf. I am Deaf and always try my best to blend in and almost always I miss a lot of things that is being said due to the hearing loss. If I have a discussion with a friend, I can follow the discussion most of the time. I’m not saying being Deaf is easy but it is different experience.

The main reason I like this video is ACCEPTANCE. Regardless what you have or what you are, it is important to be accepted by the people’s approval at some level. There is 1,000 cans for every can’t. So if you come across by some obnoxious person, I’m not saying you have to be friend with him or her. Just accept and do what need to be done and go forward, not go around it to get away with it. We are all human.

DJ Sammy is one of the top 5 DJ in my book. I really enjoyed his production and this was one of the most mature production where there is no half-naked girls dancing to the beat and blazing away. It’s okay to have that sometime but not all time or else it has gone overrated.

What do you think of this music video?

Would it be neat to have a restaurant where you’re pretty much force to sign only for the experience of it and get the order right? Hands On took over a busy Cactus Jacks restaurant in Dublin, Ireland for a day and convert the menu into combination of fingerspelling and sign language. This is pretty cool crash-course for those who are not really aware of what the Deaf and hard of hearing face daily when they go out to the public. Communication is the barrier and the Deaf individuals has their own technique of getting their message across. I’m not going for the Deaf Power approach but this is more for the awareness instead of having a once a year Deaf Awareness Week. If Deaf Restaurant established, will the business last? I think it will last longer in bigger city where you are drawing in a broader audience than you would in a smaller city.

I think Las Vegas has a similar concept as you’re placed in pitch black room like you’re a blind person. Apparently, it suppose to elevate your sense and so so. Interesting concept and a risk which is something you have to try or you will never know.

Check out the video from Hands On (Deaf Restaurant Section is shown from 0:00 to 10:00):

If a restaurant opened and it is sign only, would you go to it?
