Pixar’s “Onward” will be digitally available to purchase anywhere now and will be on Disney+ on April 3 in the U.S.
“Onward” received rave reviews after the film was premiered in theaters on March 6. With the global health crisis, cinemas temporarily closed their doors until it’s resolved. Disney went ahead and offer the film ahead of schedule to allow to be purchase on digital platforms in U.S.
In the given current circumstance, Dan Scanlon – Director of “Onward” want to share the fun and adventurous film to digital platforms for people to enjoy from the comfort at their homes. This is a generous move from Disney and the directors since the box office won’t meet with the health crisis going on.
“Onward” is about teenage elf brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot get an unexpected opportunity to spend the day with their late dad, embarking on an strange quest in the Barley’s Van. The quest is filled with magic spells, maps, obstacles, and discoveries. When the boys’ mom realized her sons are missing, she team up with The Manticore and heads off to find them. This one magical day could mean more than any of them ever dreamed.
Again this is a generous and a surprise move from Walt Disney Company and Pixar as we are dealing with Coronavirus Outbreak and pretty much on Stay at Home Order. This release will help us pass time and enjoy something new on Disney+. “Onward” was premiere in theater on March 6 and in less than a month, it’s available worldwide in digital platforms.
