Fantastmic! will return on November 3rd!

Walt Disney World

Fantastmic!, long-running nighttime show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, will return on November 3rd.  It has been on hiatus since early 2020 in response to COVID-19 pandemic.  Last August, Disney has revealed that the cast rehearsal for the show had started – it was a sign that the show will be returning “soon”

When Fantasmic! returns, it will feature a few updates, including a new sequence and technical enhancements.  Disney shared the new sequences will include moments from “Moana”, “Aladdin,” “Mulan,” “Pocahontas,” and “Frozen 2”.

“Through this entire sequence, we go on a journey with our heroes,” Disney Live Entertainment show director Matthew Hamel said in a statement on the Disney Parks Blog. “We see them faced with a decision, and how hard that can be for them, then watch as they find that strength within themselves to push through in a truly spectacular way.”

The revamped Fantasmic! — now with a 29-minute runtime — will still include pyrotechnics, dancing water, music, Sorcerer Mickey and villains such as Maleficent.

“Bringing back Fantasmic! here at Disney’s Hollywood Studios means so much to our guests,” said Katrina Mean Rick, broadcast creative producer for Disney Live Entertainment, in a news release. “It was a task to not only preserve the legacy of the show but also introduce new characters for the next generation.”

During its announcement, Disney World also shared that Fantasmic! dining packages will be available for select restaurants at Hollywood Studios starting Oct. 26. The dining packages will only be available for performances on Nov. 30 and beyond.

Fantasmic! will be scheduled for nightly performances at the outdoor Hollywood Hills Amphitheater; however the show is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
