Megamind Spin-off Series coming to Peacock TV in 2024

DreamWorks

Megamind and Despicable Me both came out 2010 and the minions have managed to become a global brand.  However, there is a lot of love for Megamind and from what is going around it looks like defender of Metrocity is going to be making a comeback with a sequel!

Instead of a stand alone film sequel, there is a possibility this upcoming Megamind sequel would be more of a Series Sequel which is broken down into series and air on NBCUniversal’s Peacock like a TV Series instead of a standalone film.

Here’s the synopsis for Megamind found online:

Though he is the most-brilliant supervillain the world has known, Megamind (Will Ferrell) is the least-successful. Thwarted time and again by heroic Metro Man (Brad Pitt), Megamind is more surprised than anyone when he actually manages to defeat his longtime enemy. But without Metro Man, Megamind has no purpose in life, so he creates a new opponent, who quickly decides that it’s more fun to be a bad guy than a hero.

Shrek was supposed to be the sarcastic version of Disney’s fairy tales genre while Megamind is similar but toward the superhero genre.  Megamind is a charming film with a lot of humor and heart. It didn’t fare too well at the box office since a lot of people thought it was similar to Despicable Me.  I mean the people are not wrong in a way.

I mean, this scene alone manages to top anything we’ve gotten in the MCU after 20+ films:

The Megamind series hasn’t been officially announced, but we’ll wait and see what we get in 2024.
